We recorded this a while back but I totally forgot about it until today.

That time Whiteboard Geeks had me on their podcast to talk about digital marketing

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to be a guest on Whiteboard Geeks’ “Digital Marketing Master” podcast. We spent the time talking about marketing at a large law firm, what my biggest rock to move is from a digital perspective and how we measure success.

I also share the advice would I give someone out of school getting their first marketing job.

You can listen to the entire episode on their website by clicking here.

I listened to this from start to finish today for the first time and found that I rambled a bit too much in spots. Apologies in advance for that.

I do go into some detail in this episode on how we really simplified our tech stack, especially when it comes to CRM. The temptation to make a digital marketing technology stack complicated always lingers. It’s an easy trap to fall into. Our crew spent a lot of time taking a “Marie Kondo” approach to our CRM when we re-platformed and prioritized simplicity over all. We had to make tough decisions on “must have” and “nice to have” features.

My approach has been to take a “crawl/walk/run” approach to technology change and minimize our onboarding needs as much as possible.

If you listened to the full episode:

  • First off, bless you.

  • Second, what am I missing? What should I have addressed in here that I didn’t?
